Guidance on mainstreaming gender under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

This guidance provides Contracting Parties to the Convention on Wetlands with a series of key operational and practical entry points to enhance the mainstreaming of gender equality under the Convention, and presents several case studies on the value of taking a gender-sensitive approach to the wise use and management of wetlands. Resolution XIII.18 on Gender and wetlands, approved at the 13th meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties (COP13) in 2018, encourages the Parties to mainstream a gender perspective in their implementation of the Convention, and requests the production of guidance on the integration of gender issues in the implementation of the Convention.
