Public awareness to take appropriate actions in time based on the early warning is essential with strong legal provisions.
Public, private and social media has crucial role and they played very active role in flooding in different ways. Most were active during and aftermath of disaster event. Media are potential for their critical roles and capacity in this flood event. Ministry of Information and Communication are appropriate to take necessary actions to work with and mobilise media to raise public awareness, facilitate coordinated awareness raising activities before, during and after disasters to prevent and reduce losses and damages.
