Impacts of 2021 Post Monsoon Floods and Recovery Needs

Most parts of Nepal experience repeated impact on human lives and property due to floods, landslides and inundations caused by heavy intense monsoon rainfall. The south-eastern monsoon circulation from June to September every year is responsible for 80% of annual precipitation in the country, affecting almost all geographical regions of the country. For example, the 2021 monsoon affected lives and livelihoods of 70 out of 77 districts in the country, with several parts of the country experiencing floods, landslides, inundations and debris flow as early as the second week of June (10th June 2021).
