Bridging the funding gap: Scaling finance for climate adaptation in developing countries

Adaptation finance continues to lag far behind needs, with developing countries facing escalating climate impacts and constrained fiscal space. With the Global Goal on Adaptation due to be agreed in Belém, discussions around the Baku to Belém Roadmap to USD 1.3 trillion and the Sharm el-Sheikh Dialogue concluding this year, making progress on the quantity and quality of finance will be critical for progressing the climate finance agenda of the coming years.

As Parties seek to bridge political divides and deliver tangible progress on adaptation finance, this session will provide space to discuss the negotiations and outcomes, identify remaining gaps, and highlight actionable pathways forward. It will explore how to deliver finance at scale, while ensuring that the quality of finance is not compromised.
