London Climate Action Week 2026: Improving extreme heat governance and strengthening action around the world

London Climate Action Week is an annual event that brings together an array of world leading climate professionals and communities to find solutions to reduce the impacts of climate hazards. Taking place for the 8th year running, London Climate Action Week provides a platform for organisations, communities and individuals to showcase their climate-focused activities.

This event, run in collaboration with the London School of Economics, will open with the announcement of the Adeline Stuart-Watt Award, which celebrates the legacy of Adeline and recognises outstanding postgraduate contributions to the field of climate adaptation and resilience.

Extreme heat is one of the fastest-growing climate risks facing countries and communities worldwide. Yet in many contexts, governance systems have struggled to keep pace with the scale of the challenge. Bringing together expertise from the Grantham Research Institute, Mercy Corps, Practical Action, and the IFRC, alongside input from leading global partners, this event will explore the critical need to strengthen extreme heat governance globally, examining key challenges and opportunities for progress. It will present new analysis of extreme heat governance across countries where the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance operates, alongside stories from our country programmes.

When and where?
