The objectives of flood forecasting and warning services are to enable and persuade people, community, agencies and organizations to be prepared for the flood and take necessary actions to increase safety and reduce or protect damages of lives and properties. Its goal is to alert the agencies, departments, communities and people to enhance their preparedness and to motivate vulnerable communities to undertake preparedness and protective measures. This report details out the work done by FFWC and BWDB and the situation of the rivers and rainfall for the year 2015, along with the years forecast evaluation, inundation status and characteristics and special event floods. This report might be a point of interest to the planners, designers, administrators, working in the water sector, disaster managers/fighters and various activities of formulating measures for flood management in Bangladesh.
