Amphibious Homes for Flood Resilience in Vietnam and Bangladesh

Flooding is a yearly issue for people living in delta regions. However, climate change is making these floods more unpredictable and protracted, which is having a huge impact on communities. This video follows two Global Resilience Partnership grantees as they work to build floating homes to improve the resilience of flood-stricken communities in Vietnam and Bangladesh. These amphibious homes rise with flood waters and settle back to earth when the flood recedes. In Vietnam the emphasis is on retrofitting existing homes with buoyancy aids, while in Bangladesh entirely new floating homes are designed and constructed with full participation from the community.
