Since disasters are recognized to be one major stumbling block in attaining development goals, disaster reduction should be a major concern for all. There is a need to promote those disaster reduction activities that can be replicated, as stated in the book. This book can be used by development practitioners as a reference in their own practice in disaster risk reduction.
